This page is to show people how to solve a Rubik's cube in seven steps. Note: you will have to memorize all these eventually. I reccommend NOT trying to memorize too many steps in one day. - professor2009
First, you must know the move notation;
Right(R)=turn the right side of the cube in relation to the side you are facing, clockwise 90 degrees.
RightInverted(Ri)=turn the right side of the cube in relation to the side you are facing, counterclockwise 90 degrees.
Up(U)=turn the top of the cube in relation to the side you are facing, clockwise 90 degrees.
UpInverted(Ui)=turn the top of the cube in relation to the side you are facing, counterclockwise 90 degrees.
Left(L)=turn the left side of the cube in relation to the side you are facing, clockwise 90 degrees.
LeftInverted(Li)=turn the left side of the cube in relation to the side you are facing, counterclockwise 90 degrees.
Front(F)=turn the front of the cube(the side you are facing), clockwise 90 degrees.
FrontInverted(Fi)=turn the front of the cube(the side you are facing), counterclockwise 90 degrees.
Down(D)=turn the bottom of the cube in relation to the side you are facing, clockwise 90 degrees.
DownInverted(Di)=turn the bottom of the cube in relation to the side you are facing, counterclockwise 90 degrees.
With me so far? Good? Good. Now for step one. I like to think about the cube as being made up of three layers. The fist one is the side you solve first, the second one the middle one, the third one the last remaining one. I will warn you, this is rather complicated stuff, so try to bear with me. I can solve a cube in just over a minute when I am holding a conversation, and I will tell you, IT TAKES PRACTICE. Don't worry if you don't get it at first.
1) Solve the green cross(it doesn't matter which side, but for the sake of repetition, I start with the green one).
Algorithms: none
This picture shows how to tell which side is the green side.
First you must find the green side. You can tell which one is the green side because the piece in the middle will be green. Then you must make a green cross, ignoring the corners.
Look at the edges of these pieces once you have made the cross. Line up the center piece with one of the edges that connect to the green one, then look around the cube. If all of them are lined up, you are ready for step 2. If not, mess around with it until they are.
2) Solve the green corners.
Algorithms: Ri Di R Dx1,3,or 5.
Next, you must solve the corners of the green side.
First, get the corner underneath where it needs to go(make sure all the sides match).
Then do Ri Di R D 1, 3, or times. If it the green part is in the right spot, and the edges match, you have done it correctly. repeat this until all the corners are done.
This is a corner underneath where it needs to be. Look at the bottom right of the cube.
3)Solve the second layer.
Algorithms: Ui Fi U F U R Ui Ri & U R Ui Ri Ui Fi U F
Turn the cube upside down so the green side is facing down.
Turn the top of the cube until the edges are directly above the correct faces. If it is to the left of one of the faces, turn the cube so you are looking at the left face so it is above the other face to the right, and use U R Ui Ri Ui Fi U F. If it is to the right, use Ui Fi U F U R Ui Ri. Repeat until the first AND second layers are done.
4) Solve the upper blue cross.
Algorithms: F R U Ri Ui Fi
Turn the top layer until the edges match the picture below( if there is no picture below, don't worry, I'm working on it).
